    Description

Antique Vintage French 1935 Green Cast Iron Award Plaque for Dutch Breed Heifers
This authentic vintage oval competition award plaque dated
1935 by the agricultural committee of Ailly-sur-Noye (in the Somme region of France, just a few miles south of Amiens) as the 2nd prize for young heifers (with 4 to 6 teeth only) of the Holstein cattle breed (called race hollandaise
    [Dutch breed]
    in French).
The plaque has retained its dark green color; remnants of paint on the backside. Little to no wear to the raised letters. The French breeders would display their award plaques on the exterior of the barn for all to see. Mostly likely this plaque was displayed on an interior wall of the breeding bard, based on its condition!
Today theses plaques are lovely displayed on a wall in a grouping.  Heavy, solid cast iron. Weighs 0.415 kg.
Measures 9.5 inches by 5.75 inches (center), excluding loop at the top.
    Shipped within the USA only.
