    Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers’
    December 1960 European tour, visiting Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Netherlands, and Belgium. The Jazz Messengers for the tour featured trumpeter Lee Morgan, tenor saxophonist Wayne Shorter, double bassist Jymie Merritt, and pianist Bobby Timmons. With this line-up
    The Big Beat
    had just been recorded at the Van Gelder Studio, produced by Alfred Lion. The album was released immediately prior to the European Tour by Blue Note.
    In original pictorial matte-coated wrappers, staple bound, 20.0 x 21.0 cm, 16 pp. Bilingual edition with text in both English and German. In excellent condition, tightly bound and clean.
