Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with Katie Chin

Do you know what this month is? Besides the birthday month of Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, its also the Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, a celebration of Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States.

And what better way to cerebrate the month of May with non other than Katie Chin, an Asian food expert, cookbook author, tv host, food blogger and cool mom that specialize in everyday Asian recipes for real people on real schedules and real budgets. Parallel that, Macy’s is celebrating APAHM along side Katie and wants to help prep your kitchen and help your taste buds head east on a flavorful culinary adventure. We are so on board!

Are you like us and can’t seem to get enough of the Asian flavor? Not a problem! Check out Katie’s latest release, Katie Chin’s Everyday Chinese Cookbook: 101 Delicious Recipes from My Mother’s Kitchen, a family treasury of memories and recipes that introduces her mother’s mastery of Chinese flavors and techniques to the everyday kitchen. We got out copy on the Kindle and we just can wait to get loose in the kitchen and stir-up some chow mein and orange chicken; yep that’s how we roll.

If you are like us and are super excited about the idea of meeting Katie, well my friends, you are in luck because she will host in-store culinary events at six Macy’s stores across the country, highlighting the Asian food experience through cooking demos, tips for setting your table, and more. Katie will also discuss the importance of her heritage and its specific influence on her culinary style.
